Invisible is a status effect that prevents enemies from detecting the player by sight. The Dorky Face enemies turn invisible when all three three party members are inflicted with Silence and Paralyzed at the same time. The Hammer Blaster enemies can turn invisible at any moment of battle, rendering them unable to be targeted, but their AI script will continue to run. This makes them immune to damage, but they return to being visible on their next turn. The Ghost enemies turn invisible when attacked or stolen from. The bug was partially fixed in the game's Advance port. This is the cause of the infamous Vanish-Doom bug which allows any target, even bosses, vulnerable to Vanish, to be killed in one hit. Vanished characters can be afflicted with any status ailment, even if they are immune to it, provided the status is caused by a magic attack. Additionally, the Magic Evasion stat is reduced to zero, and spells such as Reflect and Shell lose their effects, even if given by equipment. The exception to this is the enemy ability Northern Cross, which does not remove the Invisible status when it fails to inflict Frozen. Characters with Vanish are immune to physical attacks but become visible if hit by magic. The Invisible status is granted by the Vanish spell, the Phantom esper, or by throwing an Invisible Edge.
